Get involved

Working for and with Veterans provides you with amazing rewards and there are lots of ways you can become involved with Veteran Advocacy Australia to support Veterans.

Most of our team are volunteers that give their time to ensure that Veterans are supported and receive the entitlements and community support they deserve.

Below are a few ways you can support Veterans across the community.

Advocacy

We are always looking for more people to assist Veterans with the DVA Claims process.

Veteran Advocacy can be done from anywhere anytime and all you need is a computer and telephone.

We do not follow the DVA Advocacy Training program because we have our own insurance, therefore you can support Veterans in a manner that suits you such as specialising is a specific claim type.  You will be supported by the team and on the job training will be provided.

Veteran Advocacy is more than DVA Claims, advocacy comes in all forms, promoting Veteran welfare and issues, talking to businesses, gaining supporters and sponsors, and educating the community on Veteran matters.

We want to help you help Veterans in a way that works for you.

Become an activity coordinator or organise a single event

Veterans are located all around Australia and that means we can run Veteran Connect activities anywhere and anytime.

The goal of Veteran Connect is to build local relationships and support networks to prevent the growing toll of Veteran suicide.

Veteran Connect activities vary from regular walks and coffees to a one off event in your area.

Share your ideas and we will see how we can make it happen.

Sponsor an event

If you are a business or organisation you could sponsor an event, purchase specific equipment, or help raise funds for our Veteran programs.

Your business or organisation can be recognised through a tailored solution.

Fundraise

Holding an event such as a workplace morning tea is a great way to raise funds to support Veterans.  To discuss your idea and see what support we can provide please contact us.

Please note: the use of the Veteran Advocacy Australia logo cannot be used without written approval.

Donate your cans – Cans 4 Vets

You can donate your aluminium cans and glass bottles – not only will you be reducing waste, recycling for the environment, but assisting with our Veterans Welfare programs.

Make a drop off at your location container centre and provide our scheme ID.
